When I was reading the information about “Zero”, my eyes stopped at a name. Ju Fufu. A girl’s name, like candy in childhood, but given an extremely heavy fate.
She is not a character in the ordinary sense, but a life form that leaps out of the game world. In this battle area called “Yunkuishan”, she uses the popcorn pot in her hand to fight against all the indifference and destruction in this world. Her weapon was originally a tool for life, but now it has become the only language between her and the enemy.
I don’t like those showy data, nor am I good at talking about skill bonuses and numerical optimization. But I am willing to understand a person – the person behind a character. Ju Fufu is not just a set of parameters, not just an S-level warrior with fire attributes, not just a destructive agent. She is a young warrior who expresses faith and responsibility with fire.
When she appeared on the battlefield, she would not say any lofty words, nor did she ask anyone to understand. She ignited her own “heat”, which was the embodiment of her will. She slashed forward with normal attacks, one, two, three, four times. It was like repeatedly asking a question: “Do we have to fight?” But no one responded to her, so she had to give her own answer: “Yes.”
Her popcorn pot is not beautiful, it is even a bit bulky. But she makes it spin and jump, making it smart and powerful. Her flame is not for dazzling, but to ignite hope. She does not approach those dazzling halos, nor does she rely on the protection of the strong. She relies on her own “heat” and “thermal rotation” to burn in front of the enemy.
She does not fight for herself. Her skill design has long shown that she exists for the team. Her combo skills can be automatically activated when she is not the character in operation; her finishing skills give the team higher critical damage and output; her image shadow clearly points out that she can provide bonuses and support for the whole team. She is not the one who stands in the center of the stage to receive applause, but the pillar that burns in the dark and supports the operation of the stage.
Ju Fu Fu’s skill system is a symbol of responsibility. In this fast and utilitarian virtual world, she chose the heaviest path. She took on multiple tasks of support, linkage, and output, constantly accumulating heat, releasing energy, and constantly protecting others in her own way.
She was not born strong. She needs to accumulate heat to launch powerful skills; her heat rotation needs to be accumulated point by point in battle; behind each of her powerful skills, she hides her constant suppression, waiting, and burning. This is not a gift, but a qualification for survival earned through hard work.
Some people see her explosive power and the flames of her finishing moves, and think she is omnipotent. But what I see is the back of her constantly looking for enemies when she is “spinning at high speed”. She spins not because she likes the excitement, but because she is afraid to stop – once she stops, she may lose the value of existence.
Her flame is not only a fighting skill, but also a belief. She believes that she is not alone, she believes that the team is trustworthy, and she believes that the linkage skills do not contain formulas, but the cooperation and tacit understanding between people. She doesn’t say these beliefs, she just acts silently, integrating these beliefs into every attack, every support, and every ending.
Her imagery and shadows push this belief to the extreme. In M1, she gets 100 heat points as soon as she appears, and she is ready for battle. In M2, when others launch finishing moves, she will restore heat for them. She does not compete for credit or glory, but only silently offers the next flame after others complete their goals. In M6, she inflicts “wounds” in ordinary attacks, and then uses the fourth attack to make up for the heavy ending. This pursuit is a calm and resolute love.
Ju Fufu reminds me of the young people in the past. In that era, they also chose to burn themselves in exchange for the revival and freedom of the nation. They don’t often speak, but just move forward firmly in silence. They don’t hold popcorn pots in their hands, but books, pens, hoes, and guns. But their eyes, like Ju Fufu, are full of determination.
We may not be able to become S-class warriors, nor can we control the skills in the virtual world, but we can learn her persistence in silence, her loyalty to the team, and her courage to light a fire in the coldest weather.
Ju Fufu is not a victory of one person, she is the embodiment of the team’s trust, the hope born in the flames, and a girl who persists in her faith in the storm.
She is the warmest existence in “Zero Zone”. Because she uses fire not to destroy, but to illuminate.
